County projections and HISTA in Demographics

The Demographics tab adds the state demographer's county population projections where a state publishes one, and can import your firm's Ribbon HISTA tables.

Auto-Fill adds a County Population Projections (Official State Source) card to the Demographics tab when the state demographer, state data center or the state's designated university center publishes a county series. StudyScribe bundles each publisher's own file and cites it — publisher, vintage, and the year the projections start. 32 states and DC publish one today; for the others the card shows the publisher's note instead of a number. Nothing is interpolated or estimated.

The projection files are re-read once a month against the publisher's site. When a state issues a new vintage, the bundled file is replaced in a release and open reports show the refresh notice on the Demographics section.

If your firm subscribes to Ribbon's HISTA data, open the Household projections — Ribbon Demographics HISTA (your report) card on the Demographics tab and upload the PDF Ribbon sent you. StudyScribe reads its households-by-income-and-size tables — renter and owner, by householder age, for the estimate and projection years — exactly as printed and only keeps a table whose rows add up to its printed total; anything else is rejected with the reason. The export prints the table under Renter Households by Income and Size (HISTA) with Ribbon's report cited as the source.

StudyScribe does not resell HISTA. The import reads a report your firm already licensed; the figures stay yours and are not shared with other firms.
